The Trinidad State Trojan family is mourning the loss of Scott Douglas, a dedicated and influential baseball coach whose career spanned high school, college, and professional levels. Douglas, who passed away at the age of 57, leaves behind a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and passion for the game.
Douglas’s coaching career at Trinidad State College (TSC) was marked by significant achievements. He led the Trojans to the Region 9 championship in 2008 and secured the Empire Conference title in 2009. His commitment to developing young athletes was evident in his four seasons coaching at TSC during 2006-07 and 2014-15.

Beyond TSC, Douglas brought his expertise to collegiate programs such as Colorado Christian University, where he served as head coach for one year, and as an assistant coach at Hardin-Simmons University, Northern Iowa, and Northern Colorado. His extensive coaching experience underscored his deep understanding of the game and his ability to nurture talent.
Douglas’s baseball journey also included a notable playing career, including his time with the Regina Cyclones during their inaugural season in 1994. His involvement in professional baseball extended beyond playing, as he took on roles as a coach and manager at the independent level, demonstrating his versatile dedication to the sport.
The Regina Red Sox expressed their condolences on social media, stating, “Our condolences go out to his family and those closest.” Douglas is survived by his wife, Keri, and their two sons, Kade and Seth.
